Inbox msg deleted after reply

My Outlook is deleting the email from the inbox after I
do a reply or forward. How do I stop that and keep the
original email in the inbox?
 
Is it really being deleted? Does it go into the Deleted Items folder?

Have you customised your view so you are only seeing "Unread Messages"

The missing inbox messages are not in the deleted folder.

I went to View, Current View and discovered that "By
Sender" was checked. I changed it to "Messages" but the
same thing happens. After a reply or forward, the
original message is gone from the inbox.
 
Make sure you're not sorting your Inbox on the Icon column.

Hi, I am running Outlook 2010 and am having the same issue and am unsure how to rectify problem. Have tried to follow previous advice but am unable to locate tabs listed to change settings?
