inbox messages disappear after one week

How can i keep my messages from disappearing from my inbox folder? After one
week, they are gone and I can not find them in any of my folders.

I think this is because of the auto-archive (I do not know the exact
english name) feature.

or maybe you you are in "show only messages of the last 7 days" mode.
(again, I do not know the exact english name of this feature)
