inaccessible_boot_device problem

when i boot my system having o/s win2000 advance server,
after scaning it hangs with a blue screen showing
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.
Actually the said hard disk initally installed on another
mother board(ASHUS COMPANY, INTEL CHIP SET)and now i am
trying to boot this hard disk with INTEL Mother Board, but
it shows me error.
so please guide me.

You could try to repair your startup environment but you risk making this
disk not work int he other machine too. You typically cannot just remove a
drive from one system and put it in another.

Try to edit the BOOT.INI file. it might be looking in the wrong place. do
you still use the same HD controller? can you explain your hardware set up
in more details?

Plug and Play can't redetect your hardware but it can't change your hardware
abstraction layer.
Try repairing the installation.
