Hi All
I have been working on a friends machine trying to get it to start windows
XP, basically the system crashed and he has tried the recovery F10 facility
as the backup system is on the hard drive and failed to reinstall through -
he has also tried to reinstall xp from another disk and it claimed that the
partitions were inaccessable ??? and would not continue to install, his main
concern is NO BACKUP of documents (daft I know) we have tried RECOVERY
CONSOLE and used commands such as FIXBOOT - FIXMBR and this didnt cure it
either
Since trying the above, on restart he is now getting "cannot find NTLDR"
I am unsure as to what to try next as I dont want to format drive due to no
backup
