This is the message I get.

You don't have the required priviledges to continue the installation. Please
have your system administrater ( or someother user with higher privilges) to
install this software. ( couldn't get write access to the "
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tif" register key)

Are you logged in as an administrator?

How do I do that? Do you mean when I start my PC? I'm logged in as the user
' shirley'.

1. Is this a standalone home machine or a work machine that is on a
domain?

2. Go to the User Accounts applet in Control Panel and double-click it
to open it. Your account "shirley" should be there. Does it say
"Computer Administrator"?

Since you didn't tell us:

1. What program you are trying to install; or
2. If this happens with all programs or just the one

I can't give you a specific answer. If this is just the one program, I'd
download it again and/or check with the program mftr.'s tech support.

If it happens with all programs, please post back with more information
about your system - Service Pack level, antivirus program installed
(including the version and whether the virus definitions are current).

The program is a trial Photo pos Lite set up. Maybe it just that one. I have
installed service pak 2, and I read some where that could be the problem, but
I don't know if I should uninstall it. I use nortons virus, and have closed
that, but it didn't work.--

If that is the only program with which you are having difficulty, either
check with the program's tech support or try a different program.
