In Outlook e-mail, zipped attachment file is grey, why not yellow?

Trying to attach zipped CAD files to e-mail. When attached, zipped folder
icon shows up as grey and can't be sent receipient. How do I correct this?
 
what version of outlook, what os are you using and do you use the winodws
compressed folders or another zip program?
