In Outlook 2003 under WinXP Pro SP2, Any Way to Recover Deleted Distribution Lists?

I accidentally deleted a Distribution List from my Outlook 2003 Contacts.
Is there any way to recover that distribution list? I don't understand why
it's so easy to recover accidentally deleted e-mail, yet so hard, if not
impossible, to recover accidentally deleted Distribution Lists.

I shall greatly appreciate your help on this.

If your email is stored on an Exchange server then you can ask your sysadmin
to restore it from the backup tapes for you. If not then I'm pretty certain
that once the deleted items have been emptied in a .pst file that the space
is recovered in the file as well so there is no way to undelete the info
unless you have a recent backup of the file.
