IN My opinion SP2

In my opinion if you follow the steps before installing
SP2 to the "T", and have all your updates and updates
from your manufactore, done a disk cleanup,
diskdefrgmeant, spyware check disk, run antivirus,
deleate tem internet files, deleate cookies,uninstall
printer and other perifials, disable all programs running
in the background, run PC Doctor, in my opinion, there
should be no problem installing this. I thin alot of the
problem may be with SP2 being installed while printers,
web cams and such software are STILL installed. I did
this to be safe and ghad NO troubles at all with a dialup
connection. Then did the steps after installing and it
was Ok.

Most folks just download, ignore all docs and warnings, install, with
their 20 background startup apps running and just hope for the best.
That is NO way to do a Major OS upgrade.

Then MS should not have been telling everyone to turn on Auto Updates
without further warnings and instructions!

That's very true. Microsoft in effect told everyone basically to go about your business and SP2
would appear as if by magic.

I had done alot of reading PRIOR to installing SP@ and
found out what to do before. That is my best suggestion
for all to do. There are many MVP sites that explain how
to go about installing and things to do before.m Look for
the MVP sites and they will tell you what to do before.

It will do all the downloading as you go about daily activity. When all
has arrived it will put up a 'Do you want to install now'; which
includes a 'exit from all windows programs' warning
