I am trying to download my WEB from the net and get "server error: the URL
'public_html/_vti_bin' is invalid. It may refer to a nonexistant file or
folder or refer to a valid file or folder that is not in the current web"

1. Does the server have extensions installed?? If it is supposed to, have your host repair reset
them.
2. How are you trying to "download" the web. If extensions are installed / have been repaired,
open it in FrontPage using http://website.com as the address and then use File > Publish Web and
publish it to your hard drive.

Yes, extensions are installed and server asures me that there are others using FP.
I am trying to use FTP Because FP the first in the list will not recognise
my password.
I am just trying to get a good copy of my site to my harddrive .
I actually had to have the server post my site because the only way FP can
even get into the site is through FTP.

Then the FP extensions are not configured correctly for your web account, and by using FTP to upload
the site, the extensions most likely have become corrupted.

As for your login info, this can be different for FP and FTP, it is possible that if the host
manually set up your account that they mis-spell your login info when setting up the FP login.
