Whenever I try to insert hyperlinks in an email (the hyperlinks are to
intranet site) I have to wait a full 2 minutes or more for folders options to
apprear. The dialog box freezes, so I cannot input the hyperlink name
manually.

I found your post while searching for an answer to this problem. I had a
similar problem inserting hyperlinks in Outlook 2007, although my delay was
only about 12 seconds. I could not find an answer to this anywhere but
finally figured it out myself.

The cause of my problem was 6 shortcuts I had in the My Documents folder.
These shortcuts were to folders elsewhere on my hard drive. As an experiment,
I added 6 more shortcuts to My Documents, and nearly doubled the delay time.
My solution was to create a folder called Shortcuts under My Documents and
move the shortcuts to that folder. Now my Insert Hyperlink dialog is
populated almost immediately.

Thank you SO much. This has been a major annoyance for so long and your
solution resolved it immediately.
