Hi

See if the following article by MVP Alex Nichol helps you:

"Virtual Memory in Windows XP"

Hi

You've clicked on the 'Set' button before OK and then rebooting?

| Sorry, but it didn´t help..

Yes I clicked. The weird thing is that I set it to 512-512 and then reboot. Then checked again the Virtual memory setting and it says that it is set to 512-512, but the pagefile size is 768MB

Hi

Do you still get a 768 MB pagefile if you select 'System managed size'?

Do you have Norton's Anti-Virus?
This plays around with the pagefile. I am seeing the same
thing. You have 512 Mb of memory and the pagefile after
loading Norton's autoprotect, reads 1.5 X 512 = 768 no
matter what. If you boot into safe mode or disable
autoprotect the pagefile will read what you set it at.

I havn't found a solution but disabling autoprotect will
leave you wide open for virus'. Symantec says to disable
some unneeded services and refers you to
www.blackviper.com which is a great discription of MS
services and what can be disabled.
Good luck,
John

I have tryed moving the pagefile to another physical drive
which seams to work, if you have 2 HDD.
Good luck,

Hey, Thanks man. I have Norton Antivirus and Auto-Protect Enabled. I think this is the problem. But I don´t want to disable auto-protect.
