Importing wrong table?

Access is opening the wrong table as I attempt to import.

If I go to Get External Data, select ODBC source, which points to an Oracle
9i server, it lists the various tables within that database. There are alot,
at least 50,000 tables listed alphabetically. The problem I have is trying
to select any of the tables that are on the lower portion of the list, it
doesn't open the one that I choose, but instead a table in the middle of the
list.
Tables on the top half of the listing open fine.

Is there a limit on the amount of tables that can be successfully imported
into Access from Oracle. If so, where does this exist: Access, ODBC, Windows,
Oracle? Or is this related to something else?

I've been able to replicate this on several PC's, which run XP SP2. I have
set up new ODBC connections. I also have downloaded the latest WIndows and
Office patches and have the latest MDAC.

I do not receive any error messages along the way, only that I see the wrong
table being opened.
And, no, I'm not clicking on the wrong table.
:)

Thanks

Sorry, I don't have a solution, just a curiosity...

This sounds like it happens if you try to import the data. Does the same
thing happen if you try to link to the data?

Perhaps I do have a work-around...

Can you get into Oracle and use a data transformation function to "export" a
copy of the desired table?

The same thing does happen if I link to it.

I did not yet try to do the export from Oracle.
However, I was just able to import the data into Excel, and it worked fine.
So it sounds like it is Access that is the problem, not the database, nor the
ODBC drivers.

Thanks,
Bob
