importing quicktime videos to movie maker?

O

onefreshkidd//4

i imported video clips to movie maker and they worked perfectly. i tried
importing clips that i recorded from my camera and they dont show up. the
difference between the clips is the ones that worked had a windows media
player symbol, and the clips from my camera are quicktime videos. thats just
they way they upload. i made sure the vids still worked, and i even switched
them to different folders, but when i click import video, and go to the
folder theyre in, they dont show up...the ones with the windows media player
symbol show up though...so!?

The QT files are *.mov files.

You will have to convert them before they are usable in WMM

Do a 'net search on "mov to mpeg" to see what is available............nothing
for free AFAIK

Below is some information from John Inzer on QT and
convertors...........................................................

The full retail version of Apple
QuickTime can convert the files.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/

And...The following articles discuss
possible ways to convert .mov files
to a usable format .

Movie Maker 2 - Converting
MOV Files

Using Rad Video Tools

Convert .mov using TMPGEnc
and the TMPGEnc Mov Plugin

Also...the free software Super may
be worth a try:

(the mirror download site is faster)
