Importing Outlook Calendar

I upgraded from XP Pro to Vista, and before I did, I saved my Outlook 2007
calendar as an iCalendar (ics format). I can import it to the new install of
Outlook 2007, but now, all my appointments just show up as "busy" instead of
having any actual information in them. Is there any way to recover the lost
data?

(I thought I had done this right...Grrr, I hate to lose the information for
the past 1-1/2 years)

Thanks.

Did you upgrade Windows or completely format the hard drive? There wasn't
really a reason to save a calendar out, you could have just copied your PST
and used it on the new install. So, the option is to find the PST file.
If you formatted the hard drive, when is your last backup?

Move your outlook data file to the new pc, then open it within OL
Or if by upgrade you mean upgraded the o/s on the same PC without using the
clean install method then your origonal OL data file should be intact, so
open it.
If you clean installed recover the origonal OL data file from your backups

Thanks for the replies.
This was a completely clean install, reformatting and reinstalling
everything. Unfortunately, there's no back-up of the outlook calendar. When I
was preparing to do the install of Vista, I read on one tech page that I
should save the calendar, (something I hadn't even considered!) and saved it
in the "iCalendar" format...the only option outlook offered to me.
As I originally said, it shows when and where I have/had appointments, but
instead of any info on that appointment, it only shows "Busy."

I'd really like to recover this info, but it sounds like that may not be
possible.

So you didn't save your Outlook PST file from before the reformat?

If not then I suspect the appointment detail is indeed gone.

Apparently I didn't save it properly. I used the export function within Outlook to save the calendar, and it did save it as a .ics file..but, having never done this before, (I only started using outlook in 2007, and this is the first reformat since then) it looks like I did it wrong. Ah well, it's nothing life-threatening...I can live with the loss of data.
Thanks to all for the replies.
