Importing OE into Outlook 2003

I have a small company in our ofice that uses OE, they want to move to
Outlook 2003, is it easy to import all their current email, email folders and
contacts etc?

will these stesp work easily?

A. Start Outlook.
B. From the File menu, select Import and Export.
C. From the list, select Import Internet Mail and Addresses.
D. Click Next.
E. Select your version of Outlook Express.
• In Outlook 2003, select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x.
• In Outlook 2000/2002, select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.
F. Click Next.
G. Select the options you want.
• In Outlook 2003, under Options, select the duplicate options you want.
• In Outlook 2000/2002:
i. Under Select the Destination for Imported Addresses, select the
destination you want.
ii. Under Options, select the duplicate options you want.

No. Don't do it this way. If you use the import in Outlook, then all your
imported messages will have a "modified date" set to the date of import, and
Outlook uses modified dates for archiving purposes amongst others.

Certainly use the import function to import addressbooks ONLY, but for email
messages, open Outlook Express and export from there.

Use Outlook Express' File menu > Export to export the messages from
Outlook Express into Outlook. That way, the messages will retain their
proper dates.
