Importing messages from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2007

Hope that this is in the right category.
I am wanting to know if messages (inbox, sent items, etc.) that were created
using Outlook Express 6, can be imported to Outlook 2007. I have attempted
using the import wizard in Outlook but apparently have been doing something
wrong as I have been unsuccessful. Could someone please help? Thank you.
