Importing .jpg files

When importing pictures from my local C: drive to FP2002, the picture
properties maintains the file:///C:/Photos/... extensions and no matter what
I do - it will not revert to the FP file structure, thus when I publish, the
web site is always looking at my hard disk. I recently moved this web site to
FP02 on XP Home from FP00 on Win2K where the application worked like a charm.
What am I missing here?

How did you move your web from one machine to the other?

Are you sure you have a web on your local machine and not individual files in a regular folder?

How are you importing the image, and do you have a web open (File Menu | Open Web) first?

I open FP03, place the cursor on the location on the page I want the pic at
and click on the import file icon.

You need have the web / site open first (File Menu | Open Site) then you need to use File Menu |
Import and import all images into the web, then you would open your page and insert the image from
the location where you imported it to.

Thanks for the fast response and doing what you suggested, the properties for
this particular files are still file:///C:/Documents and Settings/Scott
Gipson/My Documents/My Webs/forgottenlane/images/hw evening2.jpg even though
the files is in the /images folder under the web name- so it is still looking
at the C: drive versus the web.

make sure the webfolder forgottenlane has the little blue globe on it.

try: recalculate hyperlinks on your local machine, and directly on the server.

i've never used a zip drive to move webs from machine to machine, i wonder if importing the web from a zip may have mess thangs up

Are you looking at the image path after you have saved the page?

Yes! No matter what I do the image path is always back t the folder that it
came from. Very frustrating.

Can you give me step by step what you are doing to open the web, and importing and insert your
images?

What I did this AM was to "re-import" the website and start all over. The jpg
file insertion worked, after I published it but does not show up on the page
when I open it FP.

What I do is to place the cursor where I want the image and click on the
"Insert Image From File" icon. In the old version, when I saved the page the
system wwould ask me where I wanted to save the file in the web structure - I
get no such option here. It seems to be working now but I will have to figure
out how to get a mirror image on FP that I have on the internet. Thanks for
the help.

Open the internet site in FP (if it has the FP extensions) and then publish back to your local
machine.
