Importing iPhoto Pictures

J

Jerad Hoff

I exported several images in the 'original' format (JPG) out of iPhoto to
use in a powerpoint presention. Whenever I attempt to "Insert picture
from file" I get the following error:

"This applicatoin cannot open this file. This file is an unsupported
graphic format or may be damaged. Try opening the graphic in another
application."

As a guy who likes to follow directions from time to time, I was able to
open the pictures in Preview, Keynote, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

If I open the picture with Preview, I can copy the image to the clipboard
and paste the image into PowerPoint.

Does anyone have any ideas why PowerPoint is refusing to directly
open the pictures?

Thanks!

Sometimes file specifications are subject to interpretation.
One developer's idea of "to spec" may not always match up perfectly with
another's.
Or a file spec may allow for variants - one app may support (and write) a
variant that another app doesn't.

Sounds like this is what's gone and bit you.

iPhoto will export PNGs as well. Give that a try.
