Importing from Outlook to Windows Mail

I am sorry if this has been asked before, I've read and haven't found
anything.

I would like to import my .pst or indivudal .msg files into Windows Mail
(under Vista, of course) but I keep getting errors or it will not 'see' the
files all together. Has anyone been able to do this successfully?

You think you are having trouble with Windows Mail: I imported my Outlook
2007 mail into Windows Mail yesterday and EVERY SINGLE piece of mail
consisted ENTIRELY of Chinese, Japanese, or ASCII garbage characters --
except for the headers, which were imported correctly as they should be.

If anyone knows why this happened, and how to remedy it, I would definitely
appreciate it.
