Importing .dbx files

What's the procedure for importing just the OE .dbx files into Windows Mail?
I have my mail folder but not a working xp machine anymore. The regular
import function does not seem to work.

You have to have a full backup of the dbx files from the other system --
folders.dbx must be included. Put those into a blank subdirectory and make
sure the files are not read only (as if off a CD). Then use File | Import |
Messages and choose OE6 format and point to that directory.

If the import fails, then the only recourse at the moment is to extract the
messages from the dbx files using a 3rd party tool (e.g.
www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) and then drag the eml files into WinMail folders.

I'm working on extending my OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) so one can
just point to a dbx file no matter where it is and import it. That works
for OE now, but I have to make some modifications for WinMail.

The import fails for me (and I have copied it, the only attribute is +A and
there is a Folders.dbx in there). So, I would be interested in an alternative
copy process.

The only thing available now is software that would extract the messages
from the dbx files, and then you could drag them into WinMail folders. My
OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) lets you import from a dbx file directly,
but I don't have that working yet for WinMail, and if the normal importing
doesn't work, then its possible the files are corrupted and so OEX might not
work then anyway.
