Importing an Adobe Formatted File

I'm trying to create a form that provides a link to three reports that are
all in Adobe Reader Format. These reports have been saved to my personal
drive on my computer. When I tried to import the information, Access would
not even recognize the Adobe files. I then attempted to insert the reports
as an object. When I'm in design view, I see an icon that I am able to click
and view the reports which is what I want; but when I change from design view,
I no longer able to do anything. The icon still appears but I'm not able to
click on it let alone view reports. I know there has got to be a way to
import these reports but I just don't know how to. What are my options in
doing this? Do you have any suggestions?
 
About the only option native to Access is to use hyperlinks to show these
reports as needed. You can not import the data from these pdf files unless
you extract it first using a third party program. Even then it might be very
difficult if they locked the PDF file.

One of the reasons for using PDF files is so that you can publish something
and no one can change or reuse the information in another program easily.
 
The reports that I'm trying to use were sent to me through an email. I don't
have actual access to the site were they got them from. When you say use
hyperlinks, do you mean use the "main source" hyperlink of where the reports
derived or somehow create my own and link the reports to that. I don't have
much experience with doing this particular thing in Access. If possible,
could you give me more insight on this matter.

If you want to display the pdf files, you'll need to save the email
attachments to somewhere on your network. Then use a hyperlink field in an
Access table to link to the pdf files.

If you actually need to manipulate the data on the pdf files, I suggest that
you contact the person who sends you the files and request the data in
something Access can import or link to such as Excel.
