Importing a PST file??

I have a client that allowed his PST file to grow to 1.8Gb and now it useless in Outlook. Even to open a single e-mail crashes his Outlook.

Any possibility of importing this data into Access... if Access can even handle it?

If Outlook can't handle it, Access won't be able to. Have you tried
repairing the file using the scanpst tool? Google for

repair damaged pst file site:microsoft.com

and you'll find some articles about it.
