Imported Email Address

I have Outlook XP. I imported a group of email address into my contact box in my personal folder. The import only had Internet address in it, no names.

My problem is when I create an e-mail, and start typing an email address in the TO: field. None of the imported addresses are displayed as choice. How can I get the imported names to be listed in the "auto complete list" option?

you need to first send to or reply to the people for the address to be in autocomplete. type part of the names and hit control+K to resolve the names the first time.

Are you sure their is no way to import the names into the autocomplete?

The reason I ask is, I have about 100 users that we are thinking about converting form Eudora to Outlook. It is going to be a major complete, If the users have to lookup everyone's email address and then type it in before the autocomplete works.

No, you can't prepopulate autocomplete.

The users don't have to look anything up - if they know they want to send to Bob Smith, they type Bob and hit ctrl+K or tab out of the field and it should find all the bob's - if more than one, they select the correct one on a right click. Then it's added to autocomplete.
