I captured a video fine in movie maker. Then I added a song from a cd. It
shows up in the timeline but there is no sound. I have checked to make sure
nothing is on mute. Any suggestions?

What format did you rip the song that you added?

Also, Have you changed the checked the audio levels (Tools > Audio Levels)
to make sure they are not set all the way to one side?

Hello,

From the beginning...steps to take

1) Use a program like Audacity (Fantastic) or MusicMatch (also fantastic bur
for different reasons) and rip (copy) the desired audio track making sure that
the format of the adio is either WAV (preffered) or WMA.

2) Using the TASKS menu in Movie Maker import the WAV or WMA file and then add
to the timeline in the desired position.

Take note that a CDA file is not usable withing Movie Maker

If none of the above helps can you please specify exactly what files (including
type/extension) you are using and exactly where/when the failure occurs.
