Ok so i finally got my computer running i dont know why but it did.
but the thing is, is that i want my computer the way it was when i got
for christmas. programs like microsoft works and inportant audio
sotfware is missing so i cant hear anything. people keep talking
about a partition CD, but the only CD i have is the recovery CD and
that does not work restore the computer to its original way. i dont
have any other disk because everything came with the computer so where
do i get a partition CD and will it restore my computer with its
orginal way when I got it?

do they customize each partition CD depending on your computer model
or does everyone get the some CD, and if everyone gets the same CD
with the same programs on it then will my computer be the same way it
was when i got it because i would imagine that everyones computer is
not really the same. by the way i have an eMachine.

Hi Coba:

The recovery CD erases your hard disk and reinstalls all the software
that was on your computer when you received it. The computer
manufacturer can show you how to use it.

There's no such thing as a "partition CD." Please clarify exactly what you
are talking about, and where you saw that "people keep talking about" it.

Also tell us exactly what you did to "finally got my computer running."

but the only CD i have is the recovery CD and

That's exactly what the recovery CD does does. It restores the computer to
the condition that it arrived in from the factory.

Personally, I would *never* choose to buy a computer for which it was true
that "everything came with the computer" and you have no installation CDs.
What you have may be the cheapest way to buy a computer, but it's far the
best, or even a good, way.

so where
do i get a partition CD and will it restore my computer with its
orginal way when I got it?

Again, there's no such thing as a "partition CD," so I can't answer your
question. You should read your documentation or contact your vendor
(eMachines) to find out how to proceed.

The computer you've purchased and it's recovery system are specific to the
manufacturer or possibly even the particular model of computer itself.

As such, this is a conversation you really, really need to be having with
eMachines.
