Import/Read from Data Excel in Compact Framework environment

Hi,

I want to use excel as my data source instead of sql server. because,
sqlserver is a bit pricy for some small customer, and also a bit for those
people not good in computer. So some of my client prefer to use Excel to
maintain their data.

How can I read Excel data into a dataset ?
How can I import excel data to my sqlce table ?

Anyone know, pls guide me ?

Pocket Excel has no automation support or object model. You can use a CSV,
which Excel understands. There's a CSV provider in the SDF.

on the other hand if text format is to be used at all, might be considerable
to think about xml?

Not if size is a consideration. A CSV is way smaller than XML.
