Import .pst from Outlook

Is it possible to import directly from an Outlook data file (.pst)? The
wizard seems to only work if you have an active installation, which I do not
after upgrading from XP to Vista 64 (along with a new motherboard, processor
and memory).

I had the older version of Office Home and Student that came with Outlook,
but Office 2007 Home & Student does not. I kept using the Outlook from the
old version until this latest upgrade from XP to Vista 64.

No you can't access the pst file unless Outlook is installed and the pst
file is opened in an Outlook profile.

From what I gather here, my best bet is to copy my old .pst file to a flash
drive, find someone who has the previous version installed and then export my
contacts and other info back to the flash drive?
