Import or Linking a Table

Hello,
I have a question about importing or linking a table in Access 2002.
When I run the Import wizard it will only allow me to select a certain type
of file (.xls, .dbf, .txt etc. as well as many others). The file I need to
import or link is a Fox Pro Database file, but it's extension is .AVL. This
file can be opened using Excel. It can be edited and saved as a database III
or IV file using Excel. Is their anyway to import or link this file as a
table in Access 2002, using the .AVL extension? The .AVL extension is used
by another program. I'm Running XP Pro, Access 2002.

Just type the name of the file, including extension. If you want to do this
programatically, see help for VBA command Docmd.TransferDatabase. Using
this command, you can specify the database type and filename.

Paul,
When I try typing in the filename then select ok, it tells me that it is
an unrecognized database format. When I try to import it It shows an hour
glass but the import screen never goes away. The file name I'm trying to
import is FRPTRES.AVL
