import or delete Outlook 2000 Calendar

My Outlook Calendar got screwed up when I tried to synchronize it with my
new laptop - that's a whole different issue that I'll post.

I tried to import my backup into Outlook, but instead of overwriting
everything it added everything now I have multiples of everything!!

1) Is it possible to import into Outlook 2K *overwriting* everything?

2) Is it possible to delete the *whole* calendar before importing to prevent
the duplication?

Thanks for your help on this.

1. Do NOT import your pst file. Importing is for translating another file
format for use with Outlook. Why would Outlook try to translate its native
format?

2. Display your calendar in a table view and then select all and press
delete - it may take some time if you have a lot of entries and duplicates.

Once you have erased the calendar, use File->Open to open your .pst file.
You can drag and drop the folders into your current .pst file or you can
make your old .pst file the new default and close out the old one.

Thanks for the tip.

Before I got your message, I tried archiving the Calendar (using a date in
the future) to a new archive2.pst. that successfully emptied the Calendar.
Then I imported just the Calendar from a backup I made just yesterday. That
worked. The Calendar is back in order now.

I tried to archive the Calendar on the laptop the same way (Outlook 2000 on
Windows XP). But it simply won't archive at all. It says it is; the
archiving icon appears briefly, but nothing gets archived!

Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks again.

If you have touched the items recently, their modified date has been
changed. Outlook uses the modified date to determine what items should be
archived. Display your calendar in a table view, add the Date Modified to
the columns and then use that to display your items. Dollars to donuts, the
date modified will be yesterday.
