import all data from Act! 2005

I am using Act! 2005 right now and can not take it any more. I downloaded
all the updates but still too slow. It is so slow that it is almost useless,
especially if I am talking to a customer on the phone and trying to get up
their info. Just installing it slowed my computer down to a crawl.

I don't have a barn burner for a laptop, but works great for everything else
but Act!. I installed Act! on one of my desktops just to see if a faster
computer would work better, but it is still a slow program. I don't know how
anyone can use this program unless they have the latest hardware, which most
offices don't have.

Is there a way to import all of my Act! calendar info and contacts into
Outlook? What would happen to all my notes that I entered under details with
each appointment?

My suggestion would be to select the option of download to a .txt file for
Act. This will then create a great backup of all your date, notes, etc. that
you can open in excel.
You can then import the file into outlook using the match fields option to
get as much into outlook as possible.

You are correct in assuming you will not be able to call of the data up in
your contacts as the fields and field types will not match. You will be able
to get name, numbers, email, addresses, etc. But, at least you will have a
place to start and then as you call customers you can copy and paste the info
from your spreadsheet into the contacts main comment fields but most of all
take advantage of the journal and activities tab in contacts as you need them
to use Outlook properly in managing sales call type activities.
Another solution is that after you export it to a .txt file you can use the
Access template "Contact Management" database if you feel comfortable with
that you can import your data into it.

Here are some links that may be of interest:
This first one is similar to what you would do with full version outloo
