imporing email and contacts in Outlook 2000

Outlook 2000 does not seem to support importing email and
contacts from eudora lite 5.X. I get an error message
stating that it is unable to open the program and the
program may be in use (of course this is not the case). I
also notice that the latest Eudora listed in the import
list is 4.X. Is there a patch or work around?

use Outlook Express as an intermediary.
