Imbed Another FP site in another

I have an existing website (say mywebsite.com) and I wish to introduce
another separate website (actually one created by FP) as a subdomain. So one
would access the new imbedded website as subdomain.mywebsite.com.

I understand how to do this but the navigational settings and header either
disappear or take on the attributes of my existing website. How do I retain
both characteristics - that is if one goes to mywebite.com the get that look
and feel but if they go to subdomain.mywebsite.com they get another?

Create a new sub web (sub site) for the sub domain. Then put the content
there and point the sub domain at that sub web as it's root (have your ISP
make it an application root).
