You'd need PPT 2002 or 2003 to use a trigger animation. Here's a small
example of how triggers work:
http://www.echosvoice.com/triggers.htm
I was thinking you could set the object to animate on a trigger click. The
trigger would be a textbox, and the animation would be set to an object
action of open.
This won't work in PPT 2000, though. And I can't think of any way to do
exactly what you're asking for. When you click Insert|Object|Create from
File and check the box to display an icon, you should see a "change icon"
option, though. Maybe you can create a text icon or something.
Actually, this might work:

Just don't click the "link" button when you do the Insert|Object|Create from
File.
So you'd have a textbox with a hyperlink or action setting that goes to the
slide with the embedded presentation on it, and the presentation animation
would be set to "show" (on the multimedia settings tab) automatically.
Haven't tested, but I think that should work.

Which version of PPT are you using? I'm thinking you might be able to get
what you want by using a trigger animation (set to Open) and a textbox to
trigger it.

Hi,
I am having a slight problem, I wan to be able to click on lines of text
that look like hyperlinks but are actually an imbedded object like another
ppt file. The problem I have is that I can imbed a file using the Insert,
object, open existing object... add icon, but I really don't want an
icon
I
just want the hyperlink format. And in the hyperlink funtion I cannot imbed
a file.
Thanks very much for anybody's help
