I used to see a status window when I Clicked the Send/Receive button. This
feature got turned off somehow, and I cannot find the setting or option to
turn it back on. Does anyone know how to re-enable the status window?

I am running Vista Windows Mail Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)

I figured out what was wrong and thought I should post the result as well,
so if someone else has this problem, they can fix it too.

I have an extra monitor attached to my laptop when I am off-line. The
status window got opened in the second monitor by accident one day. Since
then, whenever I was on-line, I did not have my second monitor active.
Windows mail "remembered" where I had the status window and was opening it on
the non-existant monitor.

To fix the problem, I had to attach a second monitor, start up mail, try to
send/receive to create the status window on the second monitor. Then I moved
the window back to the primary screen, closed the window, and closed mail.

The next time I used mail on-line (without the second monitor), it worked
correctly...

Thanks for reporting back. You probably would have stumped us
since few of us use two monitors. :)
