Imap looses connection

Any one know how to keep an IMAP online. It stays active for a while then
goes offline....

After being idle for a little while, the connection to the imap server is
lost and it no longer checks for new messages. This only occures in Windows
Mail, not in Outlook 2007 or Thunderbird...

It is only a problem with window mail... all other programs hold the
connection
