imap.gmail.com server login window prompt

Windows Mail Version 6.0.6000.16386 Vista

the window prompt :
""Your IMAP server wishes to alert you to the following: Web login..." did
not return results.

always comes up

i am putting my correct login for the gmail server/login & its not accepting
it...what gives?
 
I am having the same constant problem with my IMAP Gmail setup with windows
mail and it really inhibits my getting any emailing done.

Any answers for this fix yet?
 
I haven't had that problem, but I use the POP version of Gmail.
I understand the IMAP implementation in Windows Mail has problems with
Gmail's IMAP. Consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail:
