imap folders

Is it possible to have imap folders show up under
the "personal folders" in outlook?

No, this is not possible.

Just like HTTP mail IMAP in Outlook is just a
synchronised copy of what's on the server cached to a pst-
file. The difference (one of them) is that with IMAP you
can subscribe to folders to download and hereby
controlling in what's cached.
