imap - deletion and movine messaging

In every other email client when you delete an imap message it is conviently
moved to the imap trash folder and purged from the current view. Can you do
this in Outlook? If not why not? This seems like a very simple option that
you should be able to add in.
 
no. Use "Purge deleted items". you can add that to your toolbar. You can
also set the view in Outlook not to show deleted items.
