IMAP connection unicode problem

Many thank for your help. I ‘m using Outlook 2003 of IMAP connector connect
to UNIX mail System. I already locate the problem at IMAP connector when
create an IMAP connection of the†pst†files default format is 97-2002
Outlook (not support Unicode.)
I cannot change to outlook 2003 format (support Unicode) when create an IMAP
connection. Anyone know that how to change from 97-2002 to 2003 outlook
format or any have the fix patch on IMAP Connection.

Please advise me.

You cannot change (convert) a 97-2002 PST file to a 2003 file. You need to
- create a new 2003-format PST file
- copy (drag-and-drop) all items from the old file to the new one.

I advise to take a backup of your old PST file (while Outlook is closed)
before starting this process.

did you set up the acct in outlook 2003 or upgrade from an earlier version?
if you created the acct in outlook, it chose the pst format. I believe
outlook 2003 only uses the old format for imap but outlook 2007 uses
Unicode.
