Hi,

I have set some of my IMAP folders to be automatically archived, but
nothing happens... Not even when I push this manually. What can be wrong?

AutoArchive works on the modified date. See if this clarifies your results.

When you open a message and choose File-> Properties you'll see the modified
date of a message. AutoArchive works with this data. Moving a message for
instance changes the modified date.

Yes, but if the modified date (so not the received date) is of today (or any

Indeed ;-)

This is a feature of AutoArchive; it copies the folderstructure to mimic the
original location of the item. When AutoArchive runs and it finds a folder
that is configured for AutoArchive it will first create the folder and then
scans the folder contents for messages that should be moved based on the
AutoArchive settings and modified date of the message.

No, the modified date will be changed when you edit the message or when you

Hmm,

But I have made these settings on folders. I haven't touched the
files,
so
their time stamp should be intact. However, the folders that I have
marked
pops up under 'archived folders', but not their contents... Isn't
that
strange!?!

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean there... I

Hi,

I have set some of my IMAP folders to be automatically
archived,
but
nothing happens... Not even when I push this manually. What
can
be
wrong?

So,

Why wont my several years old messages become archived then...? ;-/

No, the modified date will be changed when you edit the message or when you
move it to another folder. It doesn't change when you modify the AutoArchive
settings.

So,

If I understand you right the modified date for every single item in a
folder will be changed when I do an AutoArchive setting on the folder. If
I
set this function to start archiving mail older than three months the
process will start first after three months (and everything older that
that
will be archived)!?!

Indeed ;-)

This is a feature of AutoArchive; it copies the folderstructure to
mimic
the
original location of the item. When AutoArchive runs and it finds a
folder
that is configured for AutoArchive it will first create the folder and then
scans the folder contents for messages that should be moved based on the
AutoArchive settings and modified date of the message.

This is getting quite tiredsome.. ;-)

Why do you think the folders are getting archived then, but not their
contents?

To archive manually you can drag and drop your items from the Inbox to
your
archive folder.
