images not appearing in messages

I used to us outlook express, when I viewed an email with
an attached image (jpg, gif) the image displayed in the
email, in outlook this is not the case - all I have is an
attachment but no image in the email. Why is this? Can I
fix it?

No, attachments will be displayed as attachments. If the sender inserted the
picture in the body instead of an attachment the picure will be displayed in
the body.

When you create a new message choose Insert-> Picture. Make sure your
message format is HTML.
