hello

Since I have installed IE7, images in HTML emails are no longer blocked by
outlook 2003

I have checked all the settings inside outlook and IE and they are all
correct.

Does anyone know of a workaround to get this working again? Not downloading
images is supposed to be a security feature so I'm surprised if they have
removed it in IE7

Andy

IE (either version) doesn't offer this feature but Outlook. Could it be that
the images were embedded into the e-mail?

Thanks Roady,

as you suspected, the difference was not down to the different IE version
but the fact that some emails have the images inside them (and these always
show) and some reference the images from an external web site (these are
subject to the security setting)

Hi Sandi,

It is definitely in the registry;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
Key: BlockExtContent

Note 1: if the key doesn't exist it blocks it by default
Note 2: key from Office 2007 but I expect Outlook 2003 to hold the same key.
Contact me if not.

Roady, is there a Reg key that may be controlling this? I've been having a
look around but can't see one.

The email address I use for newsgroups is a spam trap and does not get read.

Thanks :)
