Image Upload Form in FP 2003

Created image upload form on blank page in new empty site. Created a local
destination folder but when right click on it to allow for anonymous uploads,
all choices are greyed out. Any ideas?

Also, once this is solved, can I just ftp folder and related html file to
site without doing a traditional publish?

Thanks.

I believe those permissions are controlled by the host (they can
allow/disallow them). So check with your host to see if they allow the
upload component, and/or anonymous uploads.

However, are you trying to set those permissions *on the server* or on your
local machine ?

You stated: "Created a *local destination folder* but when right click on it

You need to set those permissions on the server i.e. open the site live in
Frontpage and set the folder for anonymous upload - but it still depends on
your host allowing you to do this.

If you're using the FP upload component (using the server extensions) you
have to http: publish anything that uses the server extensions including the
destination folder and other files (I assume the html page you mention
contains the form with the upload field?).

First answer, I am creating this on the local machine and right clicking on
the folder in the folder list. This is first attempt at this whole thing so
any direction will be appreciated.

Web host does NOT allow anonymous FTP, however was hoping to test the form
online and see if asks for id and pw or if it just fails. Web Host support
less than knowledgable unfortunately to answer this question.

At the end of the day, I am simply looking for the most basic image upload
script that offers a browse button .... select as many images as want to
upload .... and click on upload.

Any thoughts? Thanks Andrew .... and anyone else who might care to chime
in. Much appreciated.

AJ.

You might check specifically with your host, and ask them "Can I use an HTML
form to upload files to my server space using the Frontpage server
extensions file upload component?" and get a full, direct and specific
answer from them.

If your host doesn't allow the FP upload component, they may have a third
party component they already have installed (i.e. a PHP, CGI/Perl or ASP
module) rather than the FP server extension component.

The folder permissions have to be done to a folder on the server, not a
local machine.
