Image software needed?

I' am looking for a disk image program which will create a true disk image of any Hard disk,
irregardless of format, and place that image on a USB external drive. The program must be capable
of booting from CD and imaging any hard disk format and writing it to either a USB 1 or 2 external
storage. The two problems seam to be finding one that will work with any format HD and use either
USB 1 or 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Acronis TrueImage. (I suspect that "any format partition"
is a tall order.)
