I have several powerpoint presentations, and all fonts are identicle. When I
add picture and then add an animation to the picture the font "breaks up" on
slide show mode. If I remove the animation from the pictures, it works fine
again

This does not appear to be a font or hardware issue, everything work fine
until I animate any part of the slide, then the text (any text i use) goes
wacky. When I remove the animation, it is fine again. It only appears when
you go to full screen slide show mode. I have tried this with 10-15 different
presentations, different colors, different fonts and different animation
schems. Never had this issue with any prior version of powerpoint and have
used them all.

Bob,

Sonia's answer is not going to make you happy. Kathryn and Bruce Jacobs'
article does not look at the work arounds. This is a problem that was
introduced with PP XP. I consider it a show-stopper. I have provided
Kathryn with some very good examples that she has forwarded to Microsoft.
Hopefully they will be able to find a solution.

I am not sure that what you are experiencing is what I have seen, but if it
is, I have found a simi-solution. I am importing objects that have alpha
chacters into a slide. These object can be text strings created in Word and
imported as objects. If you are using only text strings, put them into text
boxes. Text in text boxes does exhibit the (what I call) dirty character
syndrome.

If you must import text as an object, as is my case, import all objects
first. Then cover the objects with the text with white blocks and make the
blocks Exit instead of having the objects Enter. You may be able to get
away with having non-text objects Enter, but you may have to have a lot of
white boxes exit. This can be tedious and takes a lot of time, but it has
worked for me.

N.B. If you try put you white boxes on and set your Exit animation as you
import your objects, you can have some problems. Import everything you want
to use, then create your boxes, then create your Exit animation.

N.B. You do not initially have to use whit fill with no lines. Use the
default (auto fill and black lines), then highlight all the boxes and turn
them to white fill with no lines.

N.B. A single box may not cover what you want. Make several small boxes and
arrange them to cover the object; then, Group the boxes.

Good luck and this works for you.

Regards;
David

Thanks David,
Not sure this is the work around that I am wanting, unfortunately I now have
over 20 presentations, that are being edited several times a day. I was able
to go though our IT department and get phone support with Microsoft. I sent
them samples and they are as confused as I. They left me a voice message last
night that they are continuing to research this issue. I will let you know
what I find out.
