I ran the User-Security WIZARD and listed myself (the creator) as sole Admin. When I tried to open the db here's what I got

You do not have the necessary permissions to use the <name> object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you. (Error 3033
You do not have the necessary permissions for the specified object. To change your permission assignments, see your system administrator or the object's creator

Anyone know how to troubleshoot this? I'm locked out

I see what I did. I accidentally assigned myself to Admins, Backup Operators, Full Data Users, Full Permissions, New Data Users, Project Designers, Read-Only Users and Update Users

How can I override and sign back into the db

Thanks for your help

You don't mention the version, but I'll guess 2002. The wizard created a
desktop shortcut for you to launch your secure mdb.

If you are trying to open the mdb via File, Open or via a double-click in
Windows Explorer, you aren't using the correct workgroup file.

When you ran the wizard, you had the option to assign a password to your
'username'. Log in using that password. If you left the password blank,
then leave it blank when you log in.

Thanks, Joan. Yes - I'm using 2002

I don't quite understand the whole security thing very well and I think it's best that I simply remove it. I ran the wizard to set it up. Is there an easy way to remove it? I've checked out other resources in his forum but things are way over my head

Yes you can remove security. The permissions you set are stored in the mdb
file.

One of the wizard steps asked you if you want to backup your unsecure
database - did you say yes? If so you'll find that backup in the same
folder as your mdb, but it will have a .bak extension. You can rename it
back to a mdb extension, and it will be unsecured.

If you didn't create the backup or can't find it,you'll need to login using
the desktop shortcut as a user that's a member of the admins group. Go into
Tools, Security, Permissions and assign all permissions on all objects
(don't forget the Database object) to the Users Group.

Go into Tools, Security, Workgroup Administrator and ensure that you are
joined to the standard system.mdw workgroup. Close Access.

Open Access (not via the shortcut), and create a new database (you won't be
asked for a username/password). Go to File, Get External Data, Import and
import all the objects from your mdb. This new database will be unsecured,
and you are are safe to delete the old mdb and mdw.
