Hello Allayas:

Lately whenever someone sends me an attachment, when I go to open it, it's
blank. Yes I went into Internet Options, and unchecked the box next to
"attachments" that stops them. I have a friend that keeps trying to send me
funny little things, and all her other friends get it, and I can even see
that it's 59.7Kb in size but still when I click open or save then open it's
blank.
Is there some other "secret" thing that I don't know about that might be
stopping my attachments from getting through?
I also have....
a problem with Internet Explorer, It started with not letting me go to well
known antivirus websites. Now it's not letting me go to a few other websites
that I used to be able to go to without any problem. The page just stays
blank.

I was wondering if I could just re-install Outlook Express, and Internet
Explorer. I'm using IE 6.0.2800.116.

I just can't remembe where Outlook Express comes from... Was it a download,
did it come with my OS, CD? Did it come with MS Office, or with Internet
Explorer? I don't know where to look for it. and if I do, do I have to 1st
uninstall the old one before re-installing it, thereby potentially loosing
all my favorite websites, and saved e-mails? Is there somethng like when I
click on uninstall on some applications, and it asks me, "Do you want to
repair it or uninstall it"? I'd rather have it repaired actually but
re-installing I'll do if thats what it takes.

Run Outlook; click Tools, Options, "Security" tab.
Uncheck the box, "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a
virus"
Uncheck the box, "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail."
Click "Apply", "OK"

You could also click on the File menu, and click Save Attachments.

Outlook express and IE6 are incorporated in XP.

If you go to the windows update site there is a cumulative update that
fixes various outlook express problems.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
