Im getting stuck at the blue screen after the initial restart because of a
STOP ERROR.. i think it has something to do with the configuration of my hard
drive it is already paritioned into two, But see i was using an external, and
somehow my whole world got flipped upside down, i think i need to reformat my
hard drive but im not sure how ive got a x86 based pc and Its my first time
installing. please help

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:

NOTE: It would be best to physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware
devices, except the monitor, mouse and keyboard, before installing XP.

NOTE: If you have an internal Zip Drive installed, physically disconnect the
EIDE and power cable to it before proceeding, otherwise your main
hard drive may not be assigned the customary C: drive letter.
After installing Windows XP, you may then reconnect it.

1. Open your BIOS and set your "CD Drive as the first bootable device".

2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete all the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

6. ==> Immediately after installing Windows XP, turn on XP's Firewall.

7. After Windows XP is installed, visit the Windows Update website
and download the available "Critical Updates".

8. After installing the critical updates, be sure and visit the support website
of the manufacturer of the computer to download and install any
available Windows XP compatible drivers, such as video adapter
and audio drivers.

9. If you happen to run into any installation difficulties, use the following resources:

Ok Well heres the thing, my external somehow became an active partition, and
when i first tried to install, i disconnected my external drive, and went
almost all the way through the setup and in the blue screen that sais
"windows in the upper left" right there after the initial restart when is
loading up windows i get this message

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.. If this is the first time youve seen this stop
error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appers again, follow
thies steps.
Check for viruses on your computer.
Remove any newly installed hard drives or drive controllers. check your
drive to make sure is is properly configured and terminated.
Rus CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption ande then restart your
computer.

***STOP:0x0000007B (0xF8980524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
and then i figured that i should just try and do it with my external,
thinging that all the nessessary tools would come to me and I could slay
this beast of a riddle Ive been fighting with all night (-: and i actually
got to the part where you can see your drives. and the only one that was
detected at all was my external...

Ok I Hope someone cant help me
I unplugged my external hard drive, and restarted my computer.
And I put my xp pro in to REinstall . It began to load all the setup
programs, in the blue screen, seem like im stuck in that blue screen.. anyway
then it brings up a bar and that sais setup is loading windows. and kinda
stalls for a moment. and then pops into this happy message right here

"WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SETUP
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make
sure any hard disk drives are powerd, on and properly connected to your
computer, and that any disk-related hard ware configuration is current.. this
may involve runing a manufatctur-supplied diagnostic.

Setup cannot continue to quit setup press F3"
whah my head is spinning
