ILLUSTRATION

P

Pam

Using Word 2002
I drew an illustration and I grouped all the objects
together. Now I want to be able to add another page and
continue typing. I went into format object > layout and
used "In line with text" - "Square" - "Tight" - I used
them all and nothing works. When I hit the enter key to
move to the next page it drops my illustration down one
page and leaves a blank page before it.

HELP IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY

P.S. I used the "New User" newsgroup because I wasn't able
to use the "Drawing and Graphic" newsgroup - Does anyone
know what's going on with a few of these newsgroups? - I
haven't been able to access a few of them for a few days.

Hi Pam,
I used the "New User" newsgroup because I wasn't able
to use the "Drawing and Graphic" newsgroup - Does anyone
know what's going on with a few of these newsgroups? - I
haven't been able to access a few of them for a few days.
There have been problems with the Web interface. I've heard
they should be fixed, now, though... Many of us use the
NTTP interface (the "original" way) and work with a
newsreader (such as Outlook Express supports), so aren't
experiencing the problems :)

1) make sure the "Object anchor" option is activated in
Tools/Options/View

2) Click the grouped set of shapes and look for the anchor
in the left margin. DRAG it to a paragraph higher up on the
page.

3) Now click in a paragraph below that and create your new
page

Graphical objects are always anchored to a paragraph, and
will always display on the same page as that paragraph.
