Illegal operation

I am using Powerpoint withing Office XP Standard for Students. When I attempt to insert clipart or change background colour I get a message like - This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If I click on details it says - General protection fault in module 3D FX 16 V3 drv at 0008:00000258 etc. Please help as I have course work to complete urgently. Many thanks, Linda

The operation has thrown a spanner in your video driver. Video drivers are
the interface between you program and what you see. This link will give you
